Tuesday was the first day without people or plans since I arrived in France two weeks ago. It was wonderful to have some detune time.
I decided to stick close to home. I took a stroll through the park a couple blocks away. I read the book "River Town" by Peter Hessler while enjoying the perfect spring weather and my new friends, Mr. and Mrs. Mallard. It was nice of them to share some of their territory with me.
My adventure of the day (AOTD) was going to the local discount market called Ed. One difference in markets here is they don't provide bags - it's BYOB. Very environmentally concious, I would say. Another difference I found is you have to weigh your own produce. I hadn't noticed this when picking up my apples and tomatoes. When I brought my items to the register, the clerk pointed at the produce section and said something in French. She then started ringing up the person behind me. I walked back to the produce section and found the scale with the stickers. Oh.
