KungFu Noodles in Bejing

We made it! Jon and I arrived safely in Bejing on Thursday afternoon after a smooth flight from San Francisco. We even had an American swimmer (I think) on our flight coming to qualify for the Olympics next year. Pretty cool. We picked up our luggage and met our guide, Melinda, who was holding a sign that read "Mr Jonathan Wolff and Ms. Suzanne Baker". Wow - I must say I felt special.

We were driven to our hotel in downtown Bejing and attempted to check in. I say attempted because there was a bit of confusion with our room. I say room because, at first, they showed only one room for the Jon and I. 20 minutes and one manager later, it was finally discovered that the reservation was made under "Ms. Lian Jukanovich", Jen and Dano's four-year-old daughter. Okey, dokey.

Jon and I got settled in our ROOMS and headed out to find some dinner. We meandered a bit aimlessly through the streets of Bejing for over an hour. We were both so tired and had little decision-making capabilities. At last, we decided upon the Kungfu noodle place - right around the corner from our hotel!

Yay! I'm so glad you made it safely. I saw Jon's text from 1 am (PST) and was a bit worried, but then Linda Wang told me you all checked in okay. Sorry for the confusion.

Hope you have a wonderful day at the Great Wall.

By the way, we may have had a huge answer to prayer in that Lian's teacher's assistant is from Nanjing and she has asked her good friend from home to drive us from Nanjing to Gaoyou as a favor!!! Can you believe it?!

Can't wait to see you. Tell Jonathan hi for me.

Jennifer
