An Impressionist Overview

Here are some paintings that stood out as my favorites. They are some of the lesser known impressionists, at least to a layperson such as myself. Unfortunately, I didn't write down the names of the pieces (they were in French, of course!) or the artists. I will give my own dialogue instead. Please take it with the grain of salt - no disrepect meant to the artists. "I think a storm is coming. I'd better hurry and pick the romantic wildflowers quickly."

"Now promise you won't tell Mom that I broke her favorite watch, okay?"

"I thought the Farmer's Almanac said this river had excellent fishing, Norm. I haven't caught one fish yet."

"I heard that Shelly's cousin Patricia told her best friend's niece that she heard that Margot eloped. Did you hear that, too?"

This is the pre-impressionist big dots art. I like all the colors used in this one.

Ah, the Seine River, inspiration for so many impressionist artists. It truly is beautiful. Here's a modern-day look from the Musee de Orsay veranda.
