My adventure of the day (AOTD) on Friday was to go find Versailles. It looked so easy on the Paris public transportation map. I took the bus to the Blue RER (Paris train) to the Yellow RER. Piece of cake. I then waited for about an hour for the correct train that said "Chateau de Versailles" to arrive. I saw the same trains come and go. I memorized what each of their names were (DEBA, MONA, JILL, etc.). I FINALLY put it together that I was on the wrong side of the tracks. Literally. Here's what the view looked like, in case you ever find yourself in a similar situation: I arrived in Versailles starving because I planned to have lunch there. By this time, it was about 4 PM. I went to the Creperie and was turned away because they just finished lunch. I settled on a sidewalk cafe that served, of all things, Mexican food. My favorite! Nevermind my chicken burrito tasted more curry-like. It was still delicious and look how nicely presented!
Onward to Chateau de Versailles. On the way I passed the Hotel de Ville. It looked like a landmark, so I took a picture. Since this time, I've seen one in Paris and Wissous. Is this a chain like the Holiday Inn? A mystery to solve later. . .
Here's another scene I passed on my walk to the Chateau. It looks like I could be back in the 17th century. This is one of my favorite parts of Paris so far. The history of the buildings.
Viola! I arrive at the gates of Chateau de Versailles. I am struck by the enormity of its size.
At the front gates, there are signs pointing to where to purchase a billet (ticket). By this time it's after 4:30 PM and I need to be back in Paris at 7:00 PM. I decided to take myself on the budget tour. Here's what it looked like. Let me know what you think.

The burrito "surprise" taste reminds me of the baked potato surprise I had in Turkey! Haha! Glad you found Mexican food, I'm sure it was good even with an Indian flare!
