An Excursion in Vienna

On my way from Paris to Amman, I had a BRIEF stop in Vienna. I wanted to get a small taste of Austria and planned accordingly by scheduling an earlier-than-necessary flight to utilize my layover.

Here's my time spent in a nutshell:

LIKES - View of the Alps from the plane (I was singing "The Sound of Music"), Viennese coffee, apple struedel, ease & cost of transportation, good-looking people, 2 Starbucks sightings and the lunch
special at Weinwurm.

DISLIKES - Suitcase ripped during bus transport, number of smokers substantial, forgetting where the bus stop was (that had to do with me, not Vienna), can't bring liquids on board (I could in Paris - go figure!) and getting frisked by security. OBSERVATIONS - The Blue Danube looks green, the architecture looks different than France and the city has a small-town feel.

CONCLUSION - 3 hours in Vienna isn't quite enough, one day may be enough and 3 days would be more than enough time to see the sights.

Ok, was it the Le Sport Sac that ripped? We need to have a formal burial! Also, I take it you're not enjoying the smell of smoke yet...

Helpful hints on cigarette smoke from an "ex-27 year-pack-a-day-smoker"....
GET USED TO IT!!!! Just breathe it in, appreciate the quality of the drug that is so addictive it kills millions annually- become one with the nausea, and carry a small bottle of "Fabreeze" to freshen your hair and clothing after hard-core smoke infested areas. You may also feel free to pass around small breath mints to strangers...you'll never see them again and it will make your experience more pleasurable when listening to directions from close mouth range... :) Jode'
