Every Saturday morning in Bayonne is the Farmer's Market. There were breads, meats, fish, cheeses, produce and just about everything else you can think of. Sadly, I've never (I know!) been to a farmer's market in the US, so comparing is difficult. One thing I DID notice is how people look much more French here than in Paris. This picture captures it well.

This scene reminds me of the book I recently listened to called "French Women Don't Get Fat." In it, the author discussed the importance of the market and vendors, and how really they are a window into the soul of French culture. How fun that you are there, right in the midst!
