Hillsong Church in Paris

I took another opportunity to go to Hillsong Church in Paris. Remember we were turned away because there wasn't enough room? Well, thankfully, that didn't happen again. After the day I had, I think I would have emotionally lost it. Oh, by the way, after getting off the metro in Paris, I got lost. Nevermind. The important part of the story is I made it to Espace San Martin down the street from the Georges Pompidou (gigantic modern art museum - I'll show you that another time) to Hillsong Church Paris.

Pretty cool, huh? The atmosphere is hip and full of energy. It was refreshing to be in a church that had more of the States feel (I miss it - oui!). This is Hillsong London's Paris church plant. The service is in both English (Aussie-style) and French. I was amazed at the talent of the translators. It flowed quite smoothly. The guy on the left is the French translator.

I sat next to Eliza from Sweden. She had blonde hair the length of Crystal Gayle's, only thicker and healthier-looking. She is a regular at Hillsong. I'll have to talk to her more next time I go.
I attempted to download a short video clip I took during the worship time, but it didn't work. Bummer! The worship is concert-like with people jumping up and down, raising their hands. I was expecting at any moment a stage-dive. Alas, it never came, but the energy was at that level. If this represents Paris's youth, God is doing a mighty work and the church breakthrough is happening like Derek believes.

Have some posts since Thursday! Next you should take a picture of yourself just sitting still for two whole days in a row (perhaps in your pajamas eating croissant, a la Bridget Jones?)!
