My new camera

Today I had a success in buying a new camera to replace the one I broke. I found the best price at Darty, the store I referenced previously. I guess it is comparable to Best Buy. The nice young man who helped me picked up very quickly that I didn't speak any French. Fortunately for me, he spoke English. He even used a swear word properly:)

I wanted to take a picture to show the CORRECT thing to do with the wrist strap, which is to wear it anytime the camera is being used. Funny - it's pretty much the first thing the Basic User Guide says to do. It has been a humbling experience.

Finally got to read your blog. Love the pics! Love the green jacket, too. Looks like you're getting much use! Was thinking about Easter a couple years ago you spent with us, hoping this years Easter is very memorable too! My parents really want to meet up with you in May, I'll pass along your email. I'm so proud of your pursuit of technology, even in another country!!

I've been reading your blog every day. Its so fun to know where you are and what you are doing. Trying not to be envious :) So sorry about your camera. You know i understand that kind of loss well. Carie's comment made me think of our first Easter together at Susan D's house - 1992? I'll think of you as we go on an Easter Egg hunt tomorrow. Much love, Jen - Dano and Lian say hi, too!

Yes, I can say honestly that I feel your digital pain. After my second Kodak Easy Share, jumped out of my hands whilst videotaping my nephew wake-boarding, I realized too the importance of the use of the wrist strap. I also learned too that things with batteries and electronic stuff in them, don't react favorable to waves of any size. And....blowdryers are ineffective tools for drying out a salt-water-logged digital camera, or a cell phone. Hope you budget wasn't crushed on the replacement. Looks like ALL the pictures are fabulous despite the tragic loss! You might very well have a career when you return!
Hugs,
