Monique and I had very few set plans for our stay in the United Kingdom. We decided early on to just wing it and go whereever the road (and map) may lead us. We were first led to Oxford.
It is absolutely a university town. There were students everywhere and the place bustled with activity because of it. I was struck by the beauty and noticed some similarity to Boston.
We watched crew teams practice on the Thames. . .
. . . and enjoyed fish and chips at the Cock and Camel (strange name, questionable service, GREAT food).
We strolled through Oxford's campus and enjoyed the sunset. By this time, the memory of brutal customs agents was a distant memory.

Suzanne: You may remember from 'my side of the family tree' that you have a little Welsh and Scottish blood! Enjoy... but watch out for quick stops or avoidance manuevers ~ you will do the American Reaction with the car ~ and that is *Just* opposite of what is needed.

Wow, I kept checking your blog and then I missed a couple of days and BAM...lots of updates, pictures and stories...I love it. You look so cute in your pictures. Everyone has one rude person overseas to deal with...sometimes two or three. I am sending an email your way with more updates...Love and miss you,
Karen

nachos...i think i'll have some right now (healthy of course)...nice!
Suzanne - You're in one of my most favorite cities. If you get a chance in Oxford, please go to the Hawk and Dove for drinks. It is where CS Lewis used to hang out with his writer friends. And if you get a chance to see Wycliffe Hall, that is where I lived. And you'll have to go into the Bodlein, which is where I studied! And you have to try punting, not just watch :) And...and...there is just so much to do and see there. Enjoy everyminute. Also, if you're there on Sunday, a great church is St. Aldates. Much love, Jennifer
