The Road to Paris

The car ride back to Paris was to begin around 7 AM. My alarm was set for about 6:20 AM. Previously, I had some difficulty setting the alarm on my most-awesome travel clock (thanks, Jamie!), so I had diligently tested it the night before. I was successful in getting it to go off about 4 times, to the amusement of my family.

Needless to say, I was awoken at 7:40 AM by my uncle Paul calling my name. The irony is I had a vivid dream in Spain about my alarm clock not going off and my uncle being quite upset about me not being ready on time. Fortunately, only half my dream came true. My uncle did not express any irritation and I was ready to go in 12 minutes. I looked in the mirror a little later which reflected a literal "just-rolled-out-of-bed" look. You will get a glimpse of that later.

Once on the road, this is the view we got to enjoy: lots of yellow and green fields, charming little towns off in the distance and sunshine!
